Neue Woche, neue Neuigkeiten:

This week is gonna get awesome guys. There will be a lot I will tell u about. So let´s begin with the first day of the week.
Monday: Monday was a calm day. Every Monday and Tuesdays, the farm is closed. Fort hat reason we don´t have any visitor coming tot he farm. So we don´t have to wear a face mask. I´ve worked until 4 pm, we cleaned the whole barn. This was exhausting, but now it looks clean. The special thing while my mid-lunch-break was that we all ate together in the house. Yeah, you heard right. IN THE HOUSE. Monday was my last day of quarantine, so I was allowed to go into the house. We ate together, then they showed me where I can find everything nad we made a short roomtour. The best thing was, that I was able to see the pupy. He´s so sweet. OMG.
However, after work I watched the last 20 minutes of St.Pauli against Nürnberg. The result: 2:2. Then my time came. Time to get all my stuff into the house, into my new room, the „Kings Size Room“ – I would say the name matches perfectly. I left the trailer behind, made a last „SayingGoodbyeTrailer“-Roomtour and went to the house. The evening was cool. We had an amazing dinner together (thanks to Liesa) and a good evening. Finally I went to bed. I already love this bed. ( hours later my alarm went on and I got up.
Tuesday: This day might be the day oft he week, where I´ll experience the most. 8 am. I was ready to leave. Debbie said she would need 15 more minutes. I said: „Ok, hurry up. I don´t want to come late“ – „NO, you won´t. 8:15 am, we left the house and Debbie drove me tot he bus station in Newcastle. I went tot he bus, wanted to go inside but of course…. „Soory boy, this bus will leave at 9:30, the last one already left 10 minutes ago.“ I was like…OMG Debbie-what did u do? why the hell couldn´t u come on time. However, I went to Tim Hortons, just across the street, drank a coffee and waited until 9:30. After a cool and my first stay at Tim Hortons ( i d understand why canadiens love it so much) I went tot he bus and we drove to Oshawa. From Oshawa I took the „Go-Train“ at 10:40 to Toronto. Finally I arrived in Toronto at 11.30 am.
I went out of the Union Station, a building which looks beautiful, but I already saw other train station which are more beautiful. However, my first view directly goes up tot he enourmous buildings. One skyscraper next to the other. Obviously, Union Station is directly in Downtown. Perhaps, people knew when seeing me, that I´m a tourist. I went on google Maps and was looking where I can go, because doing a bit sightseeing would be great, because I almost got 2 hours until I had to be at the airport to get my work permit. So first of all, I went tot he CN Tower. Maybe some of u k, that you can book a tour in the CN Tower. You´re driving 250 meters up and you can do something like a walk on an outside platform. Just go tot he internet and have a look. Then u k what I mean. I wanted to do that, but because of Covid the tower is closed. F*cking Bullshit!
„Ok, don´t be sad Tom“ – I told myself. So I went on tot he Harbour. Took some nice pictures and went through Downtown. I saw the new and old City Hall, the stadium of the baseball club, the CN Tower and other gorgeoues stuff and of course a lots of Skyscrapers. I´ve to tell u a funny story. When I arrived at the airport on 5th october, I didn´t find my luggage. I was the last person who didn´t have his luggage. I was like „OMG, how the hell ist hat even possible – after a long travel, I won´t have my luggage, for Fuck saying“. But then there was this portugesian men(also a Work&Traveller who´s might be around 26 years old), who told me where I can find my luggage. And thanks God. It was there. Today I´ve been at the New City Hall, took the picture with „Toronto-Logo“. Guys, quickly think, who made that photo. Absolutley correct. I saw a men standing in front of the city hall with a dog. Then I remembered his face. It was the guy from the airport, who helped me. I had to laugh. I mean, is it even possible finding this men at the same time, at the same place in a city with approx 4 mil. Inhabitants. However, weh ad a quick talk, went togethedr down the road and he told me his plans. Well, I thaught making new friends or getting to know new people in Canada would be much more harder, especially cause of Covid. After this awesome meeting, I went to Subway (greetings to Finn, my second Sub in my life – the same one, like at my first time) and ate my Sub directly in Downtown. It was almost 13:30, so I went to union Station, took the UP (Union-Pearson) Express to the airport. I waited one hour at the airport at CBSA (Canada Border Service Agency) and finally I´ve got my work permit. I was so happy. The Border Officer didn´t want to see anything from me. Not my POE, my job offer or something else. He just gave it to me. This might be, because I´m so handsome. Then I went back to Union Station, from there with the U-Train to the appartment of Debbie and Shain. Directly in the centre of Toronto. I met Sandra there (she already went together with Christa on Monday to Toronto and slept in the appartment). The appartment is beautiful. It´s perfect for two people. It´s in the 8th floor. You´ve got a cool view over the City. Not Downtown, but at least the Skyline of Missisauga. Sandra and I went to a Thrift Shop(that is something like a „Second Hand Shop“, a drug market and we ate something at a mexican restaurant. Delicious! After that we went back to the appartment (btw the appartments adress: 400 Walmer Road – for everyone, who would like to have a look on Google Maps), met Christa and drove back to Port Hope. While driving we saw Toronto by night. Cool as well. But I will defnintly come back tot he city after my farm stay. And then for 1 or 2 weeks. Couchsurfing, AirBnB or something else form my stay. We arrived at Port Hope at 21:30 pm. A cool day-looking forward to the next days. Especially tomorow, because I will have my day off there. All in all I´m happy when I will be able to travel through this amazing country with his amazing cities. Let´s see what the next dayy will happend😊
Wednesday: I had a day off. Talked to Mom and Dad. Nothing more. Rainy shitty day.
Thursday/Friday: I learned how to handle the gate. Well, welcoming guests, asking them some Covid stuff and farm things. Easy and simple. Together with Laurel, a 73 year old women – had a nice talk with her. Got some great infos and experiences from her. Looking forward to meet her again. Then I´ve been together with our cock Eric in the kitchen. Diswasher, Sous Chef. Painted a wall later. And some other farm stuff. Nothing special.
Saturday: Some basic farm stuff, kitchen in the Café, gate… Then we had a nice walk abolut 8km. There was one special thing. We found a cat, who was injured. Luckily we found the owner of the cat and hopefully he will take care of her. At the evening I had to cook for 8 people. The first time in my life that I´ve cooked for 8 people. I made pasta (I mean what is easier than pasta fort he first time) with mixed salad and a tomato sauce with vegetables. Some salt, pepper and other stuff and there we go. Everyone said that it was delicious. I mean simple and easy but I think I´ve done my job quiet good. Hopefully xD
Sunday: I had to empty the „black tank“ (this is the tank in the trailer where all the poop and pee comes in) – horrible. I Think I´ve got a good smell, but other people on the farm didn´t have the same opinion. However, I was in the Café, at the gate and had some other basic stuff to do. Ohhhh, one thing: I made Goat Yoga with Kim-this was funny. Never done that before, but defnintly a cool experience. If someone of you would like to do it…just come over, you won´t have to pay for it. I will take care of it😉 Within 2 seconds it was almost 15pm and work was done. Next week over. I´m already three weeks here in Canada. Unbelievable. It is still cool and I´m making a lot of new experiences.
Take care. And please think twice when you´re going out. The number of Covid-19 infections is increasing every day in Germany. Stay safe and all the Best.
Tom
