Lockdown over, RoadTrip Start and last week in Vancouver

Monday: My last day of quarantine. Tomorrow I finally be able to go out again. I am looking forward to it. Today I started to pack everything. I will clean everything and wanna plan my goodbye from Mel. I would like to give him my bike and a little letter to say: „Thank you for everything.“ – I really had a nice time at Mel´s place, even though I got Covid here. For all the people, that wanna spend a nice time in Vancouver and would like to get some local advices, I can recommend Mel. I enjoyed my time at yours. Thank you. But now I am looking forward to my next adventure. VANCOUVER ISLAND. Mario and I will start our journey on the 18th. Until then we will stay in two seperate AirBnB, just to be sure. But then the journey can start. If you are travelling for such a long time, there will be always something. It can´t just be alright all the time. I got Covid, other people have problems with something else, but I learned that you always, always have to stay positive and to make the best out of the situations. Sometimes it can get hard, but time passes. One more important thing ist o take care of each other. You´ll get to know people everywhere where you are. Stay in contact with these people, because in times where it can get hard and you need help or they need help, everyone is happy to have someone. Thanks to Mario Schrenk, Kerstin Freese, Saskia Thiel, Luca Mayer. You really helped me a lot during my quarantine. I also have to say thanks to Sandra, Liesa, Lina, Clara and Niklas. All the phone calls helped a lot. And last but not least: Thanks to all my friends in Germany that pushed me everyday and („the best comes at the end“) of course to my Mom and my Dad. I don´t know what I would have done without you.

But enough. The past has passed. Now I am looking forward to three more exciting months in Canada. I will keep you updated.

Tuesday: First of all the most important thing: A big THANKS to Mel for the time. I got up around 9 and after breakfast I went to the next London Drugs Shop, because I had to ship a parcel to my parents. After that I went to Marios AirBnB to pick up my bike. I also bought a nice gift card, which I wanna give together with the bike to Mel. At 12 Bayern Munich played against PSG. I watched it and immidiatley after it I went to my AirBnB. A nice appartment close to the english bay in Downtown. Maybe I will attach some pictures. Went for a short walk, bought some stuff and cooked in the evening. It is just incredible to feel freedom again. I don´t wanna know how people like Nelson Mandela or people who got convicted innocent must have felt. Anyway nice to be allowed to go out again. I am looking forward to my last days in Vancouver. Don´t k so far what I´ll do😊

Wednesday: I started the day at 9. I had breakfast and then a phone call with my parents. Watched Dortmund at 12 and in the afernoon I had some stuff to take care of. Went to the Laundry Valet, because I can´t make laundry in the AirBnB. First time for me. Just needed some nickles. After this I just went for a walk and enjoyed the sunset at the english bay. In the evening I had a phone call with Niklas.

Thursday: First time ever seeing Mario in Real Life. We had a really cool day together. At the moment everybody is just enjoying the nice weather weh ave here in Vancouver. For this time it is unusal but I mean I take it 😊 Mario and I went to the MOA, Museum of Anthropology, close to the UBC. It is a museum about native and I can highly recommend you not to go there. I expected to get to lean something about natives and all that stuff, but instead I found porcelain from germany. After that, we went down to the beach and walked the whole waterfront down until Kitsilano Beach. The cool thing about it was that the beach is a nudist beach. So we expected to see something, but instead we voluntarily looked the other way. In the evening we went to COSTCO and Mario enjoyed his first poutine ever and we saw the sunset above the english bay. Nice first day with my mate, which I am going to spend with the next 8 weeks, almost.

Friday: North Vancouver, Cleveland Dam, English Bay. That was th eplan for today. I wanted to show Mario some cool spots in the city. In the evening we went swimming. Also a pretty nice day.

Saturday: Last day before our RoadTrip starts. Phone call with Mom and Dad. Met with Mario and in the evening with Clara. She got out of quarantine and I definitley wanted to see here one more time before I am leaving Vancouver and she goes back to KW. I really had a great time with u @Clara, even though the end wasn´t great at all xD

Sunday: Big and exhausting day: We started around 10am. Train, another train, bus, ferry, bus another bus, rental car and then we arrived around 5pm in Victoria. Long day. In the evening we went for a snack at Fisherman´s Wharf.

In the end I really didn´t give u all a lot of informations, but the most important parts are in it. This will probably be like this fort he next few weeks. Two weeks… Road Trip wth Mario… Vancouver Island.

Keep u updated😊

Tom
