Monday: Mario and I started around 10am. We drove the whole way from Campbell River to Victoria Airport to drop off our rental car. On our way we made two stops: first one at a „returnet“ (a shop where u can drop off your empties. Then we continued our drive to the Damali Lavendar and Winery Farm. Check it out online, they got their own website. That´s where we are gonna stay the next 4 weeks. We droped off our luggage and all the other stuff, Kennedy welcomed us and showed us around, explained everything and then we headed tot he airport. We took the ferry from Mill Bay back in tot he direction oft he farm. Kennedy picked us up and we went for groceries together. In the evening Mario and I cooked some pasta with prawns and a nice sauce.
We r always working three days a week, 8 hours a day. 4 days off. That is really great. It is a great place where we ended up and Mario and I are looking forward tot he next weeks before we will hike the West Coast Trail together with Liesa and Kathy.
Tuesday to Thursday: Our first three days of work. I have to admit that the work on these three days wasn´t cool. We had to deal with every plant on the vineyard, pulling weed, carrying wine boxes from A to B and some more work, that is not that un. Hopefully we are gonna do something different and more interesting on Monday. I came here because I wanna learn something about wine and lavendar and to get to know something new, especially some different work. Hopefully this will change, but still.. Mario and I have a great time here.
Friday: First day off. We really enjoyed it. First time since three weeks, that we can just realx. Travelling is exhausting. Really! We got out oft he Motel at 8 and came back to another Motel at 10. Always on the road for 2 hours, carrying all the luggage, hiking… I mean I love it and I absolutley don´t regret it, but still exhausting. SO we were happy to just relax. In the evening we went up tot he house of our host family and had dinner together outside on the patio. Pizza with Kennedy, Christine, Hartley and Sissy. The two daughters are 5 and 6 years old. Kennedy and Christine 36 and 31. A young, nice family. We really enjoyed the time up there and appreciate the selfmade pizza with the famous dough of Christine 😉 Two more days off, d k yet what we r gonna do. Keep u updated.
Saturday: I watched soccer in the morning. After that we didn´t do a lot. Went for groceries with Kennedy, we had a nice fire in the backyard of the house. In the afternoon we watched a movie and in the evening I cooked. „Frikadellen“ with mashed potatoes and some vegetables.
Sunday: Went for a run. Mario and I biked to the nearest city and we had a nice Dinner together.
