Monday: Mario and I didn´t do anything. We cooked something and watched movies. Was pretty fun and a relxaing day. After the last three exhasuting weeks we were happy about having a day to chill and relay😊 Even though we went for a run in the evening, always great to do some sports.
Tuesday: A big day came up for us, actually for Kennedy. The whole year over it takes a lot of work in the vineyard, in the winery and all over the farm until u start botteling the wine. It took us the whole day. Weh ad 4 stations to fill the wine. One of us cleaned all the empty and already labeled bottles, the other one took these bootles and filled the wine in it with a machine that looks a bit like the udder of a cow. One of us put the cork in it, also with a machine and at the last station we had to put on the neck label. In total we filled 2040 bottles on this day. One bottle costs 25 bucks, approx 16€… u can calcualte on your own 😉
Wednesday: We started to label 2040 bottles for another wine, which we would start filling on Wednesday. One of us (Mario and Me) was outside and pulled some weed (not that nice) and the other one was in the winery together with Kennedy and labeled the bottles.
Thursday: Last day of work for this week and we did the same procedure as Tuesday: I mean it is not such a cool work, but still really interesting to see how wine gets into the bottles, bottles are getting labeled and how the final bottles look like and how it came to this. The most important part of this week of work is that u can´t sell the first 12 bottles of each wine for some reason, so Kennedy gave them to us and we have a little storage fort he next weeks, probabaly days 😉
Friday: I had some phone calls and in the afternoon Mario and I planed our trip to Victoria on Saturday. We wanna go there to get some equipment fort he West Coast Trail, which already starts in like 2 weeks.
Saturday: Day Trip to Victoria, Kennedy brought us tot he Mill Bay, we crossed the ocean tot he Brentwood Bay by Ferry and took the bus to Downtown Victoria where we went to different shops to get a tent, hiking poles, sleeping bag and amt, water bottles with filter, gaiters, rain jacket… there r so many things u need for a 7-day hiking trip. Now, weh ave almost everything important. Only things missing is food, stove, pens and all the other stuff. We´re gonna get the rest after the farm when we will stay two days in Victoria. Kathy and Liesa will join us there and we will get everythi g together, so that we don´t get anything two times. It took us until 5pm to get everything, then we headed home, we cooked something and Ruby (the cutest dog I´ve ever seen, lives on the farm) celebrated the reunion with a little round of Fatch. Such a nice and cute 2 ½ years old boy. BTW, on our way back to the farm I spoke to Kennedy and made a propsal. I asked if I could work next week 5 day instead of three. Three days would be normal workaway work for Room&Board and the other two days would be paid. He agreed! Good for me. I could earn some money on this day, because I don´t need 4 days off, especialy because Mario and I have already seen almost everything around here. One more thing… we bought a basketball in Victoria… second hand… 6 bucks. Directly tried it in the evening when we got home.

Sunday: Last day off this week. We didn´t do a lot, went playing basketball and enjoyed the free time before an exhasuting week.
One more thing that I really like and realized after two weeks on the Damali Lavender Farm. Mario and I get really great along, not even like that, also with living together for a longer time. We always cook together, we clean together, we share everything. We don´t have a lot of disputes, actually none. It works so good, so I am looking forward tot he next weeks with my friend.
After two weeks at Damali Lavender Farm I am looking forward to the last two. We had a great time here so far. I will keep u updated.
Stay safe and healthy, see ya soon,
Tom
